Dr...who?

Did anybody watch Dr who last Saturday? I did. He is weird... But has potential, I wondered what you people think of Matt smith?

Also for followers of Dr who, what of the changes to the opening credits, and the TARDIS!

My kids love Dr Who and while they are so disappointed David Tarrant is no longer Dr. Who they loved the new doctor (they were prepared to hate him). They said the first eposiode was really good (I only saw the first 15 min) and they watched the repeat on Sunday as well.

I did love David Tennant's Doctor, he will be missed. Matt Smith was acceptable on first appearance, but I will want to see a few more episodes before really judging. The Tardis looked good, but the new music confused me!

The new Doctor doesn't seem to have arrived here in the States yet. I keep waiting for BBC America to have it but I just keep getting repeats of Tennent's stuff.

I've watched all the episodes since William Hartnell's original show. I've knitted a Doctor Who scarf like Tom Baker's and I really wish I had my own fully operational TARDIS.

I was delighted witht he new Doctor, I've seen them come and go and I always think the new one will be rubbish and they never are. I think I love the concept so much that the face really does not matter. I want a tardis too. It does not need to travel much, but all that room for clutter. When you get too much the tardis just makes a new room. Oh YES.

I never saw any other Dr Who series just the ones with David Tennant so I had no reference point. I still have problems sorting out the companions.

Oh god don't get me started on Catherine Tate, i hated her compared to Rose But atleast she got to live with the doctor in a different dimension i guess that's somthing.

The new music at the start of the show was what put me off the most...

Ill get a lot of enemies on this one, but I hated Dr Who for a long time because of Tom Bakers Doctor. Its a long story involving gushy friends who were rabid fans and doing a "favor" for a friend which involved 12 hours of having to play the episodes of TB's Dr. in a small video room at a convention. It wasnt until Sylvester McCoy came along that I would even consent to watch an episode. I now am a fan of the "new" Doctors from Sylvester McCoy onward. I hope BBC America gets the new episodes soon!

Reading through the posts, it looks as if we're missing out here in Germany. The only Dr Who I know used to be a rock band - I think....

You are missing out!! Have a look at the official BBC websites; this is for the latest series and this is the classic site. That will give you a feel for what it is about.

That's my girl lol. I have never watched Doctor Who, although I have been aware of the programme. I have the record and CD of "Tommy" by The Who, though.

I'm not a Dr Who fan. Watched some of the series where the girl was Rose - is there a different one each time - but did not like her. Cant stand females with big mouths who pout! Just don't care for that actress.

yeah, the doctor always has a "companion" who is usually young, attractive and female (does Catherine tate fit any of these categories?)

Well . . . when you consider The Doctor is over 900 years old, she is a "younger woman". The term woman implies "female". So, right there that's two out of three, in a way.

I think Catherine Tate was a great companion, it gave the series depth. I enjoy her stories.

They come, they go. I had a crush on Jamie when i was 7. I do love a cute guy even in a skirt.

It looks like next Saturday BBCAmerica will show the first new Doctor Who. I hope the DVR records it. I hope we don't have any storms or atmospheric anomolies that might interfere with reception.
