I really would like your opinions on this topic. I can't even name how many books that would be GREAT movies but aren't made

Ender's game is presumably being made. The Pern series of books has been optioned to be made. Perhaps one day we'll see these.
So, I chose The Belgariad series. |

I chose The Belgariad as Pern has been optioned and a Discworld movie is going to be made - Wee Free Men - and a TV 2 parter of The Hogfather.

I chose Ender's Game series because I think it will (oh I hope they don't ruin it) make a wonderful series. Of McCaffrey's books, I've always thought the Freedom series would be the best for a movie.
And I didn't know about the Discworld movies! That's very exciting. :purplebouncy: |

I would like to see the Jim Butcher novels, (a series called the Dresden Files) made into a movie.
James Marsters does the narration for the audio books - I would be interested to see him in the movie role as well. |

Well, as Ender's Game and Diskworld is going to be made and Pern has been optioned, I chose the Elenium series.
Of those not mentioned, I'd LOVE to see Crystal Singer series as a movie! |

I just finished reading Christopher Paolini's Eragon and Eldest and thought those would be good -- but I see that it's already happening!

I voted Belgariad because I absolutely loved that series.
As for one that isn't listed ... I'd love to see an Australian series made into a movie ... Tomorrow When the War Began by John Marsden. It would be a great movie although probably aimed more at kids. Though the violence might make that a bit hard. |

Other...
Not heard of most of the list, don't like Pratchett, who I have heard of so opted other! I'd suggest the Freedom series from Ms McCaffrey rather than Pern! Alter xx |

I wouldn't mind seeing Kage Baker's "The Company" novels made into films, either (which if you haven't read, you MUST!), i.e. "The Garden of Iden", "Sky Coyote", "Mendoza in Hollywood", "Graveyard Games" and "The Fate of the World to Come". There ya go, in order even.

I'm behind the times too. I didn't realize there were going to be Pratchett movies. I voted for his since I knew about the Pern options. I just bought a copy of The Wee Free Men to read on the plane to Atlanta. :flyingbat: <----- me, flying to Atlanta?

I voted Belgariad - Ellenium would be good too, it has more humour in it than Belgariad.

 The only series mentioned that I've read is Pern, so I can't comment on any of the others.
I'm mainly a mystery reader, with certain favorite SciFi/Fantasy authors that I read. I'm branching out...but my favorite mystery writers keep WRITING!!!!! ;) I voted Other. I always thought I would like to see Jody Lynn Nye's Mythology books on film, as well as Tamora Pierce's Lioness or Protector of the Small series. I know they might be considered for 'younger' audiences, but I think they would be really interesting to see on the Big or Little Screen |

;) I was missing the choice "all of the above" - in the end, I voted for Belgariad; I'd also love to see the Left Behind books on TV or cinema.
